Eastman Musicians Among Grammy Nominees
The Eastman School enjoyed an impressive showing in nominations for the 50th annual Grammy Awards, with the Ying Quartet, the school’s string quartet-in-residence, up for best chamber music performance and Paul O’ Dette, professor of lute, nominated for best opera recording. Other nominees include Eastman graduates Renée Fleming (MM '83) and Maria Schneider (MM '85). The awards will be broadcast on Feb. 10. (Also reported in the Democrat and Chronicle.) Read more... 

Rothenberg Named to New Corrigan-Minehan Professorship
Lawrence Rothenberg, an expert on interest groups and environmental politics, has been named the Corrigan-Minehan Professor of Political Science. The professorship supports a scholar who epitomizes the research and teaching excellence of the late political scientist William F. Riker. It was endowed through a gift from E. Gerald Corrigan and his wife, University Trustee Cathy E. Minehan, '68. Read more...

'Music on My Mind' Concert Tuesday
Enjoy the Department of Neurosurgery's "Music on My Mind" concert featuring Medical Center faculty member Vincent Reale and Eastman students and faculty Jason Sah, Jeff Miller, Jennifer Gliere, and Alexandra Nguyen. Complimentary wine and cheese will be served at the free event on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m. in the Flaum Atrium at the Medical Center.

Reminder: Flu Vaccine Clinics
Well-U and the School of Nursing are holding three more flu vaccine clinics for faculty, staff, students, and spouses including one today from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at Corporate Woods, Building 30. For other dates and details, check the online schedule.
