Conductor, Composer Douglas Lowry Named Dean of Eastman
School of Music
Douglas Lowry, currently dean of the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, on August 1 will become the new dean of the Eastman School of Music, President Seligman announced today.

“Doug Lowry has been an extraordinarily successful academic leader as well as a composer and conductor of note,” says Seligman. “He will bring to Eastman the leadership, musicality, and drive to provide new energy to this nation’s leading school of music.”

“I am honored to be asked to serve the Eastman faculty and its many constituents as its new dean,” says Lowry. “I look forward to working with the entire Eastman community to further enhance the school’s presence in the international theater of music.”    Read more...
