Study: Filtering Donor Blood Reduces Complications
Medical Center researchers have discovered another reason to filter the foreign white cells from donor blood: the resulting blood product is associated with dramatically fewer cardiopulmonary complications for patients who received a transfusion.

The Eastman School's summer concert season, ranging from piano competitions to faculty recitals, starts next week. See the schedule.

Hopeman Memorial Carillon Recitals in July
Music lovers can hear the sounds of the University's carillon at the annual Hopeman Memorial Carillon Recital Series in July. There are four free programs at 7 p.m. every Monday next month.

Walking Club Will Help Golisano Children's Hospital
Registration ends July 7 for the UR Walking Club, a program that runs from July 12 to Aug. 20. Participants earn points for steps taken on deliberate walks. The program culminates with a benefit walk for Golisano Children's Hospital on Aug. 20. The top three walkers will win cash prizes.
