Linda Chaudron Named to Medical School's Diversity Post
Mark Taubman, dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, has appointed Linda Chaudron as the school's acting associate dean for diversity while seeking a permanent replacement for former associate dean Vivian Lewis. Chaudron is an associate professor of psychiatry who serves as the department’s associate chair for clinical services.

Book Explores Dominance of Academic English
In her new book, Mary Jane Curry, an associate professor at the Warner School, examines the implications of the global status of English on scholarly practices.

Nursing School Receives Enrollment Funding Support
For the third year in a row, the School of Nursing received funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program.

Flags Fly at Half Staff in Memory of Sen. Robert Byrd
In accordance with a presidential proclamation to mark the death of Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia, the University will fly the United States flag and all University flags at half staff on Friday, July 2, Saturday, July 3, and Monday, July 5. The flags will fly at full staff on Sunday, July 4, in recognition of Independence Day.

Help Save Energy Over Holiday Weekend
With the holiday weekend approaching, University Facilities and Services reminds faculty and staff to close their shades, shut off all the lights, and turn off all nonessential computers in order to save energy.

No @Rochester on Monday
In observance of the University holiday on July 5, @Rochester will not be published Monday. It will return to your inbox Tuesday, July 6. Check out a special holiday-themed homepage this weekend. Happy Independence Day.

Music Festival Is July 10
St. Monica's Church on Genesee Street, with the help of the Xerox Leadership Association, will host a music festival on Saturday, July 10, from 5 p.m. until dusk. The University community is welcome to attend the event, which will include free food and entertainment for kids.
