Photos: Freshmen Arrive on River Campus
The River Campus was a flurry of activity yesterday as members of the incoming Class of 2014 moved in to the residence halls. See the slideshow.

Fall Events Announced for 'Reading The World' Series
Open Letter Books this week announced details on the fall portion of the 2010-11 Reading the World Conversation Series. The series will include an event dedicated to Swiss author Robert Walser, a special collaboration with the Ledig House for International Writers, and a roundtable on the state of international publishing.

Anthony Center Director to Discuss Women's Suffrage
Nora Bredes, director of the Susan B. Anthony Center for Women’s Leadership, is scheduled to appear this evening on Capitol Tonight to discuss the 90th anniversary of women's suffrage and the Anthony Center's new First Women Web site. The show airs weeknights at 8 and 11:30 p.m. on YNN.

Discounts Available for University Employees
The Regional Area Recreation and Employee Services Association (RARES) offers University employees a chance to save on hundreds of area and national products and services including amusement parks, car washes, movie tickets, zoos and more. RARES ID cards are available at several on-campus and off-site locations.

Music and Food Festival Benefits Children’s Hospital
The Fairport Music and Food Festival runs from noon to dark Saturday, Aug. 28, in the village of Fairport, at Lift Bridge Lane. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Kids 12 and younger are free. For more information, visit www.fairportmusicfestival.com.
