Students Connect with Community
Members of the Class of 2014 connected with their new classmates and with the Rochester community during two events this past week. On Friday, Aug. 27, members of the Eastman community participated in the first George Eastman Day, volunteering their time at various organizations throughout Rochester. On Monday, Aug. 30, the freshman class at the College volunteered at 45 different community sites as part the annual Wilson Day. See photos from both events.
Bradford Berk to Receive Courage Award
Camp Good Days and Special Times will
honor Medical Center CEO Bradford Berk with its first Courage Award,
to be presented at Camp Good Days’ Courage Bowl game on Sunday, Sept.
18, at Marina Auto Stadium in Rochester.
University Mourns Loss of Ronald Scott
The University flag will be lowered today in memory of Ronald Scott, a patient representative for pediatrics, who joined the University in 1997. Scott, who lived in Rochester, died Aug. 12 at age 46. Click here to read his obituary in the Democrat and Chronicle.
Men's Health Day Features Screenings, Information
The Medical Center's 7th annual Men’s Health Day event, featuring former pro-football star and humanitarian Gale Sayers, is Friday, Sept. 10, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The event will feature health screenings, flu shots, medical demonstrations, and presentations on health topics relating to men.
Young Entrepreneurs Program Accepting Applications
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is currently accepting applications for 2010-11 academic year. The program accepts young entrepreneurs between the ages of 11 and 18 years old and works with them to turn their ideas into real enterprises.
