University’s Pride Network Celebrates 40 Years
For 40 years, the Pride Network, a student organization at the
University, has provided a welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered (LGBT) students on campus. A series of
events during Meliora Weekend will celebrate the group’s milestones,
look at the history of the Pride Network, and explore the future of
diversity issues on campus.

Courage Bowl is Saturday
Rochester and St. John Fisher College will square off in the Courage Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 18, to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. The football game kicks off at 7:07 p.m. at Marina
Auto Stadium in downtown Rochester. Tickets, which are $7 for faculty
and staff, are available at the Common Market or at the stadium on game day. Tickets can also be purchased
through Ticketmaster (service fees apply).
Events Celebrate Postdoc Appreciation Week
The School of Medicine and Dentistry's Offices for Graduate Education
& Postdoctoral Affairs have planned several events next week to
mark the second annual National Postdoc Appreciation Week. See the schedule of events.
Safety Tip: Reacting to 'Near Misses'
Environmental Health and Safety reminds the University community about the importance of reporting "near-miss" incidents in which an employee narrowly escapes injury. When close calls are reported, measures may be taken to prevent future incidents.

Fundraiser Benefits Fertility Preservation Program
Strong Fertility Center will host a Wine Tasting and Silent Auction from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, at The Lower Mill, Honeoye Falls, to benefit patients of the center’s fertility preservation program.

Free Salsa Dancing Lessons Offered
Simon Dance Club is offering free salsa and salsa rueda lessons to members of the University community every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The next class is Friday, Sept. 24, in the Schlegel Hall Rotunda.
