Medical School Dean and Leading Neurologist Elected to Institute
David Guzick, dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Ira Shoulson, a neurologist who has pioneered research methods that have led to new treatments for Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, and other neurodegenerative illnesses, have been elected to the prestigious Institute of Medicine, one of the nation's highest honors in the fields of medicine and health. River Campus Parking Notice: Meliora Weekend
Meliora Weekend events being held Friday and Saturday, October 17-18, will have a significant impact on River Campus traffic flow and parking. Overflow parking will be available at the Advancement and Alumni Center (300 East River Road) with shuttle service Thursday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.; Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. Direct questions to River Campus Parking at 275-3983.

Training Set for Finance Department
The Finance Department's fall training schedule has been set for later this month. The first session is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Gowen Room, Wilson Commons. The second runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Medical Center. Read more...
Imaging Sciences Receives ACR Accreditation
Two of the Rochester region's most advanced imaging equipment recently earned accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The PET/CT scanner and the 3T MRI, both located at University Imaging at Science Park, passed the rigorous testing standards. Read more...
Pediatric Hospitalist Wins Research Award
Karen Wilson, a senior instructor at the Medical Center, was awarded the 2008 Pediatric Hospital Medicine Abstract Research Award by the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Hospital Medicine. She was honored for her study that determines the average length of stay for respiratory illnesses, the most common reason for pediatric hospitalization. Read more...
