others who have interest or professional
success within the field of entrepreneurship from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight in the Rotunda
in Schlegel Hall. Hosted by the
University’s Entrepreneurship Club and
Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, the
event brings together
students, faculty, professors, alumni,
and local entrepreneurs to provide an
opportunity for networking and
socializing. Refreshments will be
provided. RSVP to Susanna Virgilio or contact her with questions.
Symposium: Teens Talk about Self-harm
“Why We Hurt Ourselves: Teens Talking
About Self-harm” will be addressed at 31st Annual Janice Lynn Cohen
Memorial Symposium, 8 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Class of
’62 Auditorium (G-9425), Medical Center. Registration is $30 and begins
at 7:30 am. This symposium is designed to bring medical professionals,
clergy and pastoral leaders, policymakers, social workers, and the
community together to discuss issues related to medical and spiritual
care of children and adolescents. For more information, contact Ruth
Lawrence at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Instant Messaging Security
Instant messaging has many of the same security threats as email.
Instant messaging can transfer viruses and other malware and give
hackers an easy way to find victims. If you regularly use instant
messaging, University IT reminds you to be aware of the security risks
associated with it and take steps to protect yourself. Do you have ideas that should be shared as security tips of the week? Send them to UnivIT_SP@ur.rochester.edu.
