University Mourns the Loss of David MacDonald
Carol Kankoski misses the hustle and
bustle of holiday shopping, the music, and the decorations. Tethered to
monitors and machines during this season of giving, the Syracuse-area
woman awaits the ultimate gift—a heart—to overcome heart failure, which
has her hospitalized at Strong Memorial Hospital.
University flags will be lowered Monday,
Dec. 19, in memory of David MacDonald, a registered nurse at Strong
Memorial Hospital, who died Dec. 1 at age 57. MacDonald, who lived in
Rochester, joined the University in 1979.
River Campus Holiday Social Is Friday
Faculty and staff are invited to
celebrate the season during the annual River Campus Holiday Social on
Friday, Dec. 16, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the May Room of Wilson
Commons. Shuttle service will be available from the Alumni and
Advancement Center on East River Road, the Laboratory for Laser
Energetics, the University Facilities Center, Goler House, and Brooks
Landing. Shuttles will begin running at 2 p.m., with initial pick up at
AAC, and will run continuously to and from the River Campus to all four
locations until 5 p.m.
Children’s School Now Enrolling
The Children’s School at URMC, a nationally accredited and New York State–licensed child-care center, is currently accepting enrollments for all ages (infants through 6 years of age). Click here for more information about the center and its offerings.
