$2.7M Boosts Effort to Create the Big View of Cancer
The National Cancer Institute has awarded $2.7 million to Hartmut "Hucky" Land, scientific director of the Wilmot Cancer Center and chair of the Department of Biomedical Genetics, to study the genes behind colon cancer. Read more...
Pianist Stephen Hough Will Perform, Host Master Class
Internationally known pianist Stephen Hough will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, as part of the Kilbourn Concert Series at the Eastman School. A master class with Hough is also scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the Louis Ciminelli Lounge of the Eastman Student Living Center. The class is open to all faculty, staff, and students. Philly Fed President to Give 30th Economic Seminar
Charles Plosser, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and former dean and professor at the Simon Graduate School of Business, will present his 30th annual economic seminar at noon on Dec. 2 at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. Plosser will share his views on current economic conditions and what can be expected in the coming year. Read more...

Volunteers Needed for Wilmot Fundraiser
Volunteers are needed for a new fundraiser for the Wilmot Cancer Center through the holiday season. The Piece of the Cure event will be held at the Mall at Greece Ridge Center, Eastview Mall, and Marketplace Mall. Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts from 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays, noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
