President Seligman: 'The University Is on the Move'
"This summer we have been busy!" says President Joel Seligman in his welcome back message to the University community. A new residence hall, pedestrian bridge, and supercomputer have been added; construction on a new media arts and innovation building is just starting and a new Warner School home is nearly finished. Interior of Golisano Hospital to Showcase Landscapes
Ballinger architects and Golisano Children's Hospital staff have released new renderings of the future interior of the hospital that include graphic elements, decor, art, and architectural features that will showcase landscapes of upstate New York. Read more...

University Mourns Loss of Melinda Andrus
The University flag will be flown at half staff Tuesday, Aug. 28, to remember Melinda Andrus, a registered nurse in pediatric nursing at Strong Memorial Hospital, who died Aug. 13. Andrus, who lived in Pittsford, N.Y., was 37. She joined the University in 1997. Click here to read an obituary in the Democrat and Chronicle.

Learn about Lasik Before Annual Flex Benefit Deadline
University employees, their friends, and families are invited to a free Lasik seminar, sponsored by the Flaum Eye Institute, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 100 Meridian Centre.  Scott MacRae, refractive surgeon and professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, and his team will explain the procedure and who is a good candidate. Refreshments will be served. Call 273-2020 to make a reservation or register online.

Live Demonstration Shows How to Make Smoothies
A live cooking demonstration featuring smoothies will be offered from noon to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, in the Lund Room at the Medical Center, hosted by Well-U and Food and Nutrition. All attendees will taste a smoothie. Employees are encouraged to bring their lunch. Click here for more information or to enroll.

University Employees Offered a Free Massage
University employees can take a break for a free 10-minute massage on Thursday, Sept. 6, courtesy of Well-U in partnership with Blanchard Chiropractic. Employees need to call 273-5240 to schedule an appointment; massages are offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
