Professor, Blues Author Discusses Upcoming Tribute Concert
Religion and classics professor Dan Beaumont talked with Jeff Harris on Jazz 90.1 about Eddie "Son" House and the upcoming benefit concert in the bluesman's honor. Beaumont recently completed a book about House, to be released next year. Listen to the interview. "Hot Blues for the Homeless: A Tribute to Son House" is planned from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Water Street Music Hall.
Ice Cream Sales Benefit Golisano Children's Hospital
The new Coldstone Creamery at 2037 West Ridge Road in Greece, will donate all proceeds from $2 ice cream sales received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, to Golisano Children's Hospital. For more information, call 227-8851.
Lynn Sullivan is Winner of 2009 Susan B. Anthony Promise Award
Lynn Sullivan, a 1991 graduate of the Simon School, is this year's recipient of the Susan B. Anthony Promise Award, established by the Anthony Center for Women's Leadership and the Simon School in 2006. The award will be presented at a Lunch and Conversation with LPGA Professionals on Wednesday, June 24, at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford.
