President Seligman Speaks at Second Friday Science Social
President Seligman will discuss "Financial Emergencies: Past, Present and Future" at the Second Friday Science Social at 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, in the Class of '62 Auditorium (G-9425) in the Medical Center. Drinks and snacks will follow in the Forbes Mezzanine. Read more...
Seminar Focuses on Ways to Nurture Healthy Body Image
Parenting expert Joe Kelly will discuss how fathers and other important men play critical roles in the development of children and adolescents from noon to to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in Room K-207 in the Medical Center. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Call Laurie Naber at 273-5108 by Friday, June 12, to register. Kelly will present a community event at Fairport High School later the same day.
Westside Farmers Market Opens Season
The University is helping mark the opening day of the Westside Farmers Market today. The market, at 831 Genesee St. (in the parking lot of St. Monica Church), runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and features local vegetables, fruits, baked goods, prepared food and wine, as well as plants. Latino Professional Alliance To March in Puerto Rican Parade
The University's Latino Professional Alliance will walk in the Puerto Rican Parade on Saturday, July 25. A ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Liberty Pole and the parade procession will start at noon. If you'd like to participate, plan to attend a meeting at noon on Wednesday, June 10, in the ground level conference room at the new University office at 910 Genesee St. at Brooks Landing.
