Flags Lowered in Memory of Sen. Edward Kennedy
In accordance with a White House proclamation signed by President Barack Obama, the United States and University flags will be lowered to half-staff today through sunset on Aug. 30 in memory of Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachussetts. One of the longest serving senators in U.S. history, Kennedy died Aug. 25.
Register Online for Meliora Weekend 2009
Online registration for Meliora Weekend 2009 (October 8–11) opens at noon today. Headliners include Secretary of Energy Steven Chu ’70, ’98 (Honorary) and HBO's Bill Maher. Two particularly special events during the weekend will be the dedication of a statue to honor George Eastman and the dedication of the Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Warner School Hosting Information Session
The Warner School of Education will host an information session about its graduate programs in teaching and curriculum, school leadership, higher education, counseling, human development, and educational policy from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today in the Alumni Advancement Center on East River Road. Wilmot Cancer Center Performs First Outpatient Stem Cell Transplant
The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center recently performed the first outpatient stem cell transplant in the Rochester area.

John DiSarro has been named assistant director of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs in the Office of the Dean of Students.
Writing Program's Main Office Moves Temporarily
The Writing Program’s main office has temporarily moved to room 4-211 in Dewey Hall. For more information, call 273-3584.
Laser Vision Correction Center Offers LASIK Seminar
The Laser Vision Correction Center will hold a free seminar about LASIK eye surgery at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, and at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. Seminars are held at 100 Meridian Centre, Suite 125. Reservations are requested. Information about insurance discounts and other details are available by calling 273-2020.
