University Launches On-Campus Broadcast Studio
The University’s newly commissioned broadcast studio allows the media quick, easy access to Rochester's experts in science, business, medicine, music, and the arts, as well as many other fields.

Deaf Wellness Center Films on CDC Web Site
Two films produced by the Deaf Wellness Center for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been posted on CDC Web sites. The films deal with lead poisoning and asthma and feature Rochester deaf actors communicating in American Sign Language, along with an English vocal track and captions.

River Campus Holiday Social is Today
The annual River Campus holiday social is today from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the May Room of Wilson Commons. Shuttle service from AAC-East River Road, Laboratory for Laser Energetics, UFC, Goler House, and Brooks Landing will be available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Italian Baroque Organ Marks Christmas at the Gallery
Eastman School professors David Higgs and Jan Opalach will headline a Christmas-themed program that showcases the Italian Baroque organ at the Memorial Art Gallery at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20.

Coping with Work and Family Stress Workshop
Well-U will offer a free workshop on how to cope with work and family stress from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the Louise Slaughter Conference Room in the Medical Center. Attendees will develop a stress management plan. Enroll online.

'Manufacturer Recalls 800,000 Doses of Vaccine; Experts Not Worried'
John Treanor, professor of medicine, and of microbiology and immunology, notes that instead of getting a dose of 15 micrograms, a person would be getting a dose of 13.5 micrograms. "I can't imagine that the effect of a 10 percent decrease in potency would be even noticeable." Read more…
