Nominate a Deserving Student
Nominations for this year’s University Student Life Awards open today. Undergraduate students at the College and the Eastman School are eligible. The annual awards recognize students who have significantly and positively impacted the University and/or surrounding community through service to others, investment of talent and time, and pursuit of excellence. The awards are divided into two categories: Individual Leadership Awards and the Student Organization and Programming Awards. Nominations can be submitted online. The deadline is Monday, Jan. 25. Summer Institute Application Deadline is March 1
The Genesee Valley Writing Project is accepting applications through March 1 for its 2010 Summer Institute. The program brings together area public and private school teachers, in all grade levels and all disciplines, for a month of intensive reading, writing, research, and practice.

Warner Student is Sesame Street Science Advisor
Kathy Conezio, a doctoral student at the Warner School, serves as the head science curriculum advisor for Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street.

Jazz, Jazz, and More Jazz at Eastman This Spring
Jazz fills Rochester venues year-round and this spring the Eastman School will be hosting noted guest artists who will give public performances with Eastman musicians.

Warm Up to Working Out
A free informational session offering tips to those new to working out and to those looking for a refresher course will be held at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in K307 (3-6408) in the Medical Center. The session is open to all University employees. Seating is limited. Enroll online. For more information, call 276-5050.

3-D movie buffs may want to get their eyes checked first—or risk a 3-D headache. "The illusions that you see in three dimensions is not exactly calibrated the same way that your eyes and your brain are.
