The Simon School is ranked 5th in the world for both finance and managerial economics, 6th in the world for accountancy, and 24th in the U.S. among the world’s top 100 business schools in an annual survey in the Jan. 25 issue of the Financial Times of London.

Book Studies What Marginalized Youth Bring to Classroom
Nancy Ares, an associate professor in teaching and curriculum, has
co-authored and edited a book that examines the resources and
practices that youth of color and those living in poverty develop
through their everyday lives and bring to
classroom learning.

Recyclemania: Let the Games Begin!
During Recyclemania,
a competition among universities and colleges across the country, participating
institutions report the weights of their trash and recyclables on a
weekly basis from Jan. 17 to March 27. Several events and activities have been scheduled at the University to raise awareness of recycling and waste reduction.
Fitness and Wellness Center Hosts Health Fair
The Fitness and Wellness Center at the Medical Center will host a health fair and open house
from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28. More than 25 vendors will
offer information, demonstrations, and samples. Come see the Fitness
Center, visit the booths, and enter the raffle for door prizes.
Gala Wine Tasting to Benefit Volunteer Services
The Medical Center’s Friends of Strong will hold its 19th annual Gala
Wine Tasting at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom on Friday, Feb. 12.
