Program Trains Students to Turn Patents Into Products
Students in the Technical Entrepreneurship and Management program find patents held by Rochester that can be turned into
profitable technologies and develop businesses around them.
Participants in the pilot program take graduate level engineering
courses from the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and
business courses from the Simon School.

Study: Atrial Fibrillation With Special Catheter Better Than Drug Therapy
Burr Hall, an assistant professor of medicine in the division of
electrophysiology, is coauthor of a study published this week that
finds treatment for atrial fibrillation using a specialized catheter
results in better outcomes for patients compared to drug therapy.

Rochester Named Healthy Blocks 'Partner of the Year'
NeighborWorks Rochester presented Rochester with its Healthy Blocks
Partner of the Year Award during its annual meeting yesterday. The
award recognizes Rochester's many programs that create strong ties
between undergraduates and community members.

Grant Will Help Launch Education Initiative
The Institute for Innovative Transition at Rochester has been awarded a
$15,000 Think College grant to conduct statewide planning for inclusive
postsecondary education options for students with intellectual and
developmental disabilities.

Call for National Nurses’ Week Award Nominations
The National Nurses’ Week Committee at the Medical Center welcomes
nominations for the annual awards which will be presented May 3.
More information and nomination forms are available online. Submissions are due April 5.
Artist's Talk, Reception Opens Exhibit
Annie Strader will give a talk on “Something is Always Far Away,” her
sculpture and video installation at an opening reception at 4 p.m.
today in the Wilson Commons Stackel Room. The exhibit will be on
display in the Hartnett Gallery through Feb. 28.
