Steven Landsburg, professor of economics, joins Doug Henwood in a week-long discussion of election-season economics, including recent comments by former Senator Phil Gramm saying America is a "nation of whiners" facing a "mental recession." "I'm not sure I would have chosen Phil Gramm's wording, but it is true that we are not (at least yet) in a recession, and overall, times are better than they've ever been," says Landsburg.
