Kevin Parker Honored by Engineering Society
Kevin Parker, dean emeritus of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and William F. May professor of engineering in the Biomedical Engineering Department, received the 2009 Engineer of the Year Award given by the Rochester Engineering Society. Simon Blog Cited Among Top Blogs for Women
The Women Entrepreneurs Blog @ Simon, featuring tips, resources, and advice for current or aspiring female entrepreneurs from women who have their own successful businesses, has been cited by Accounting among the 100 Best Blogs for Women in Business.

Students Tackle ‘Bright Flight’ in Upstate NY
In November 2009, students from the University of Rochester, Cornell University, and Syracuse University gathered for a collaborative brainstorming session called "Work/Play/Stay Mitigating Bright Flight: How to Retain Graduates in the Upstate Region." Three students and a faculty member who participated in the Work/Play/Stay weekend will present "Retaining Young Talent: Students Tackle 'Bright Flight' in Upstate N.Y.," at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in the Seminar Room at the Alumni and Advancement Center, 300 East River Road. A reception sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations will follow. Register online.

Free Tai Chi Session
World Tai Chi Day is April 24 and Well-U is offering employees a free session from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, to celebrate. For more information, call 276-5050 or e-mail Well-U. Register online.

Bookstore Closed Wednesday Afternoon
The River Campus Bookstore will be closing at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, for inventory.

Financial Health Bites: Build Better Credit
Learn about building better credit from noon to 1 p.m. today in room 1W-509 in Helen Wood Hall. A representative from HSBC Bank will lead the session. Brown-bag lunches are welcome.

Learn About Auto, Home Group Insurance
MetLife Auto and Home consultant Keith Christiansen will be available for one-on-one questions about this voluntary benefit program today through Thursday, April 15. A list of times and locations is available online.
