The Faculty in the program include all full-time members of the teaching faculty from the following departments along with many faculty from other biomedical departments: Biology , Biochemistry and Biophysics , Microbiology and Immunology , Neurobiology and Anatomy , Neuroscience , Oral Biology , Pharmacology and Physiology.

Students in their junior year are invited to submit competitive applications.

1. Working for ten weeks (Monday, 6/2/08 - Friday, 8/8/08) of their research mentor
2. Giving an oral presentation of their work during the week of 8/4/08
3. Generating a poster of your research that will need to be presented at the UPBM Poster Session in October of their fellowship year

Fellows receive a $4000.00 (before taxes) stipend that is paid out in bi-weekly installments over 10 weeks.

1. Two Letters of Recommendation
2. An Official Transcript
3. Relevant Professional Experience Summary
4. Research and Career Goals Goals (1 page maximum)
5. Format for the Body of a de Kiewiet Research Fellowship Proposal (6 pages maximum)
6. Research Advisor’s Statement Regarding Authorship of Fellowship Proposal

Applications should be submitted to UPBM office located on the 4th floor of Hutchison Hall, room 402F by, Friday, March 14, 2008.
