Department of Biology ‘08 Diploma Ceremony Graduation Details

Senior Survey
To help ensure the ’08 Biology diploma ceremony is a success we are asking your assistance in completing a senior survey. Call Marianne Arcoraci at x5-3850 or Jenn Baylark at x3-3685 should you experience any difficulties.

Time of Arrival for Graduates
All students should arrive at the River Road Auditorium no later than 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18th, 2008.
Directions for Participants in Graduation Ceremony
- Enter the building through the back parking area.
- Follow the signs to the locker area just under the auditorium.
- There will be biology faculty and staff directing the graduates to line up in order by track and last name as well as distributing announcement cards.
- The faculty will lead the students in procession into the auditorium .
- Graduates will be seated in the first rows of reserved seating.
- After processing into the auditorium, remain standing until all graduates have entered .
- When it is time for diplomas to be handed-out, an usher will signal your row to stand and line up by the stage stairs.
- When you get to the top of the stairs, hand the usher your announcement card, the usher will give your card to the announcer so that it is matched with the next name on his/her list.
- When your name is announced, cross the stage, shake hands with Dr. Eickbush, and receive your diploma. Descend the stairs to your left and return to your seat.
- At the end of the ceremony, the faculty will exit first. Ushers will let you know when to follow. You will exit by the opposite aisle from the one by which you entered.
Ushers will be there to help you throughout the ceremony.
Academic Dress
University of Rochester regalia is required to participate in the ceremony.

Seating & Tickets
Invitations are being sent to the parent's of the class of 2008. Please note that there is no limit on seating; however, we ask that you respond to the survey with the approximate number of guests so that we may plan accordingly.
Parking
Parking for this year's ceremony will be in the River Road Lot. Shuttle buses will run continuously from River Road to the main campus from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Note to Double Majors
Double major/double degree students with two ceremonies scheduled at the same time must decide which to attend.
