WERREN LAB

My major area of research is evolutionary and ecological genetics. My research approach is to integrate molecular, genetic, population and theoretical methods to investigate phenotypic evolution. Research is currently focused on three major areas:

  • heritable microorganisms and the evolution of microbial-host associations
  • genetics of reproductive isolation and morphological differences between species
  • evolution of "selfish" or "parasitic" DNA

Other areas of interest include population genetics of insects, sex ratio evolution and biological control. Specific research in these areas is available by clicking on the topic.
