GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrival/Departure

You should plan to arrive on Thursday, August 6 and depart on Sunday, August 9 after 1 PM, or take advantage of Rochester and the surrounding areas (Finger Lakes, Niagara Falls, Adirondacks, Toronto) and extend your visit.

Travel

Air travelers fly in and out of the Greater Rochester International Airport (GRIA).

Rental car

A discount for car rental may be available with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Rental Car. Further information on discounts can be given to those registering for the meeting, upon request.

Lodging

Overnight accommodations can be made at the Country Inn and Suites, 797 East Henrietta Road, Rochester (Brighton). Please call 585-427-0131 to make reservations (group rates are not available online). Please inform the hotel attendant that you are part of the "University of Rochester Biology Group". The cost of a room is $79.00 per night plus tax. A block of rooms has been reserved for this conference. The rooms will be released to the general public on July 6, 2009. Reservations must be made by calling the above number to get the discount. For more information on the hotel, please visit their website at http://www.countryinns.com/rochesterny_east. Country Inn and Suites provides complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. It is not necessary to stay at Country Inn and Suites. Please feel free to make arrangements at any of the local hotels (click here for list), but consider your need for a means of transportation to the University of Rochester for the meeting.

Conference location

This 2.5 day conference will be held in Hutchison Hall 473 on the River Campus of the University of Rochester (Campus map).

Registration

A $50 fee will be charged to cover lunch on Friday and Saturday along with coffee breaks. Payment will be collected on site. Checks (drawn on a U.S. bank) and cash (U.S. dollars) will be accepted.

Registration deadline is July 1, 2009.
You will receive an email confirming your registration.

Parking

A parking permit can be purchased for $4.00 on Friday at the Information booth on the River Campus. Parking for Saturday and Sunday is free in Trustee Lot (Campus map).

Meals

Your lunch on Friday and Saturday will be provided. The cost for the lunches will be included in your registration fee (Campus map).
