The Patio Project continuedor all whacked out |
Day 6I'm not sure why I'm feeling the full brunt of these exertions today, but I'm absolutely pooped. The day started with levelling and grading (neither of which I think I did very well...but so be it):
I had, in the morning, gone and rented a Whacker -- also known as a "vibratory rammer" (in the literature):
That led to an intense period of whacking -- or ramming -- or vibrating -- or what you will -- in short, of compacting, after which the patio area looked liked this:
Porch inspected to make sure all was up to scratch:
Meanwhile, the trusty Matt had arrived (note the high class automotive paint job in the background):
and been set the task of completing the last piece of excavation -- the patch of curb that I'm gonna pave:
Meanwhile, I had begun to lay out the landscape fabric (which I fear might not work as intended and, in fact, lead to the creation of a smalll lake on the site of the patio when it rains -- but we shall see, i suppose, when the time comes): Here's a shot of me in flagrante (layin' down the fabric) ...
Porch, as always, supervised the work, ensuring quality was maintained throughout: By the end of the day, the curb area (thanks to Matt) was ready to go:
and the main area was wrapped a la Christo and also ready for the laying in of sand...tomorrow:
To be continued, or forward to oggi...
