As a Department, we are committed to teaching and scholarship and to intellectual rigor in the context of close attention to students' needs and interests. We offer undergraduate internship, seminar and honors thesis opportunities; a series of distinguished outside speakers; symposia and workshops to address graduate students' research, teaching, and career concerns; and a Department lounge near our offices in Rush Rhees Library where we gather as a community.
