Research & teaching interests: German-Jewish literature and philosophy from the 18th-century to the present; the history of German aesthetics; poetics. He is co-editing a volume on key terms in German aesthetics from Baumgarten to Adorno. His current work focuses on the tension between Kantian and post-Kantian philosophy and Jewish identity in the late 18th century.
