Wind Symphony
The University of Rochester Wind Symphony is comprised of students, faculty,
staff, and community members who are serious and accomplished musicians,
but whose life course may vary from music to medicine, business, engineering
or linguistics. Conducted by Mr. William Tiberio, the ensemble studies and performs standard and contemporary
wind music as well as transcriptions from other genres. Recent repertoire
has included such renowned composers as Grainger, Chance, Tull, Tichelli,
Vaughan Williams, Hanson, Hindemith, Ives, and Sousa. In addition to regular
on-campus performances, the University Wind Symphony undertakes frequent
performing tours.
The ensemble rehearses Monday nights from 7:30PM to 10:00PM in Strong
Auditorium.
