JD, Albany, 1978. Criminal procedure and law. Practicing defense attorney with board certification in the area of alcohol-influenced operating offenses. Author of three legal textbooks and hundreds of articles on legal issues. Contributing writer for various legal publications and newspapers. His most recent article, "Miranda Revisited," was published in The Champion, the journal of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and calls for major changes in dealing with confessions. An earlier article, "The Great .08 Debate," also appeared in The Champion and statistically analyzed the effectiveness of reducing DWI per se blood levels to .08. Fiandach has been named a "Superlawyer" and has been named as one of America's Best Lawyers. He served as a panelist where he discussed Tocqueville's views on lawyers. He teaches a course in criminal law and procedure, which covers basic constitutional principles and basic criminal trial tactics.
