“Squeezing light in linear dispersive dielectrics”

Abstract:


Correlations between frequency and position induced in a quantized wave packet propagating in a medium with a non-zero value of group-velocity dispersion are used for generating squeezed states of light. For femtosecond pulses propagating in conventional fibers, this dispersive type of squeezing is ten orders of magnitude more effective than squeezing due to the fiber nonlinearity.
