“Action-angle control of Rydberg packets by resonance”

Abstract:
We propose an action-angle method that allows easily prediction of shape and dynamics of multidimensional wave packets. This method is applied to describe electronic states that arise in a Rydberg atom dressed in a microwave field. We show how one can use nonlinear resonance in this system to design various wave packets and to accurately control Rydberg populations.
