DEPARTMENTAL ADVICE FOR FRESHMEN: Students interested in a major or double major, or a minor in women's studies are encouraged to begin to take foundation courses during their freshman and sophomore years and to take women's studies courses cross-listed with other departments. Courses open to freshmen vary from year to year. Our Introduction and Foundation courses generally lead into clusters. Certain (noncross-listed) courses taken through other departments may also be considered for women's studies credit; students are advised to check with the Institute office.
