Note: Since Argentina, Chile, and Peru are in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons and semesters are reversed. In other words, our spring semester is the first semester of their academic year, which begins in February and ends in November.

Argentina
- Buenos Aires: Fall, Spring, or Full Year
- Poised between the sweeping Rio de La Plata and the legendary Pampa, Buenos Aires presents enticing contrasts, from the wide elegant avenues and sprawling parks of the riverside to the crowded narrow streets of the barrios beyond the city center. Students who have little or no prior study of Spanish pursue an intensive beginning or intermediate Spanish language program, which incorporates area studies courses in international business, the arts and social sciences. Students with advanced Spanish skills take area studies courses taught in Spanish, and have the option of enrolling at the Universidad de Buenos Aires or taking part in the Spanish Honors program through the Universidad Torcuata di Tella. In addition, students may explore the unique barrios of Buenos Aires through internships, volunteer work and intercambios with university students. Brazil
- Rio de Janeiro: Fall, Spring, or Full Year
- This program leverages Brazil’s rich history and culture, the academic excellence of the local universities, its booming economy, and the unmatched opportunities for living and learning in one of the world’s most beautiful and fascinating cities.You will enroll in English-taught courses or Portuguese-taught courses (for students fluent in Portuguese) in a variety of disciplines, along with a Portuguese language course.

Costa Rica
- San Jose: Fall, Spring, or Full Year
- The Social and Environmental Change Program includes field study in Costa Rica's diverse eco-regions. This English-taught program allows you to engage in experiential, hands-on learning as you examine topics in Environmental Studies, Sustainable Business Practices, or Human Rights. Courses are organized in a series of four modules, beginning with an intensive Spanish language course and ending with a capstone module that puts your knowledge into action as you participate in an internship, service-learning placement, or research project. The Advanced Spanish Immersion Program allows you to enhance your language skills while studying alongside Costa Ricans at a leading university near San José. Courses are available in numerous disciplines including Art History, Business, Environmental Studies, History, and Spanish and Latin American Literature. A required Spanish course and optional, Spanish-taught area studies courses are offered by IES Abroad at the university. In addition to the services provided through the university, IES Abroad organizes a special orientation program, field trips, cultural events, and other activities. (IES)
Chile
- Santiago: Fall, Spring, or Full Year
- Santiago is the capital of Chile, which has the fastest growing economy in Latin America. This makes it an ideal place to explore the twin themes of tradition and development. With an emphasis on improving Spanish verbal and written skills, this program offers students the opportunity to take courses taught in Spanish, ranging from archaeology to environmental studies, from literature to international relations. The program offers enrollment options at Chile's oldest and most respected university, the Universidad de Chile, and a leading private university, the Pontificia Universidad Católica. Ecuador
- Galápagos : Fall, Spring or Full Year
- There’s a reason why some of the world’s most famous scientists have visited the Galápagos Islands—now it’s your turn to discover one of the world’s most beautiful and biologically-diverse island locations. This direct enrollment program is organized through the Galápagos Academic Institute for the Arts and Sciences (GAIAS), a remote campus of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) located on the island of San Cristobal. Before you head to the Galápagos, the program will begin with a month in Quito, where you participate in an orientation, classes at USFQ, and field study excursions. The remaining months are spent on San Cristobal in the Galápagos Islands, although additional field study excursions allow you to spend time in other locations, as determined by your chosen track: Evolution, Ecology and Conservation; Marine Ecology; or People, Politics, and the Environment.

- Quito is a vibrant, modern city with roots in the Incan Empire and Colonial Spain. It is the capital of Ecuador, a country characterized by diversity - of people, language, and environment. This program emphasizes Spanish language immersion, and all courses are taught in Spanish. Subjects include environmental science, anthropology, political science, and literature. Business internships are available, as well as service learning opportunities. You also have the opportunity to enroll in courses at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador (PUCE) and the Facultad Latino americana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO), with the option of full-integration at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Field trips take you to locations such as the Amazon basin and the Galapagos Islands. Offered through the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES).

Peru
- Lima: Fall, Spring, or Full Year
- This integrated program allows students to enroll at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, which offers a wide variety of coursework, including courses in Andean literature, history, sociology, and archaeology. Students study side-by-side with Peruvian students and benefit from excursions throughout the country during the course of the semester. The program includes an orientation provided by the Office of International Studies at the Universidad Católica. All courses are taught in Spanish, so students need a minimum of five semesters of college-level Spanish, or the equivalent.

- Religion and Society in Peru
- This three-week, English-language summer program offers participants a chance to study and experience one of Latin America's most complex and fascinating countries. Students visit four different cities in Peru and study the history, politics, economics, and religious nature of Peru, past and present.
