2007 is the 50thanniversary of independence for both Ghana and Guinea, West Africa. Let us practice "Sankofa" and look to the past to explore what wisdom we can carry with us into the future. Through narrative, dance, drum, and drama, students will develop a performance piece depicting the democratic process of the post-colonial era in West Africa. Students will use techniques promoted in the Theater for Social Change movement currently practiced in Ghana to educate its citizens on social issues.
