Pelvis Workshop
Led by Audrey Harpe
November 18, 2005
The pelvis, often overlooked or "hidden" from our consciousness, is a gold mine of support for our daily and creative movement and athletic pursuits. In this workshop we will demystify the pelvis and bring awareness to these core muscles. We will use experiential anatomy techniques to discover the bony frame and the soft tissue of the pelvis. Through imagery and movement we will explore how to bring flexibility and strength to this area. Building abdominal strength without awareness of the pelvic muscles can be damaging to the pelvis and lower back. We will learn how to build core strength that leaves us with a healthy back, support for our internal organs, and a feeling of dynamic energy. The information you will gain from this workshop will relieve you from hearing yourself say in the future..."I wish someone would have told me this ten years ago!"
Audrey Harpe discovered her love for yoga twenty years ago. She has been teaching yoga since 1994. She has a keen interest in experiential anatomy and incorporates it into her yoga classes. Audrey is founder and director of Yoga Bhoga, a cozy little yoga studio in Hemlock, NY.
