It is our mission, as the Graduate Students of Color Council, to establish an open and inviting community to all new and current graduate students of color on-campus. As a council we aim to raise awareness in regard to diversity in higher education throughout the community and the university. Our council will serve as a voice and advocate for students of color regarding university policies. Furthermore, we aim to provide resources for the professional development of graduate students throughout the University of Rochester community. In our efforts to better our community, we also strive to mentor younger students to support them through their academic career. The Council will be involved in educating, engaging, and assisting our local community.
