Workshop Program Events

Meliora Weekend Open House

The Center for Workshop Education and Learning Assistance Services would like to invite you to a reunion event for current and former Workshop leaders during Meliora Weekend.  On Friday, October 9th, 2009, current and former leaders, Workshop faculty and learning specialists will gather for refreshments and a poster session highlighting research done by Workshop leaders.

Seminar on Leading Workshops

On October 17, 2009, Drs. Richard Felder and Rebecca Brent will be presenting a three hour seminar on leading cooperative learning groups.  All Workshop leaders and faculty, as well as other interested members of the community, are invited to attend.  This seminar is co-sponsored by Learning Assistance Services, the Center for Workshop Education and the UCIS group for education.  Keep checking this space for further information.

Register for Fall 2009 Study Skills Course

Each semester study skills counselors and LAS staff teach CAS 142, Methods of Inquiry. This six-week course focuses on issues such as time management, stress, test-taking strategies and motivation that are relevant to learning effectively. This is a workshop-style class in which students submit a number of short assignments and a short final essay; students also give an in-class presentation at the end of the course.

The following one-credit course is offered during the Fall 2009 semester.
