The backbone of Orientation 2012! Below is a list of Senior Orientation Volunteers, Transfer Orientation Volunteers, and Orientation Volunteers. They will be helping to provide the best Orientation experience possible! Listed below is their favorite musician or band, favorite Olympic sport, favorite candy or chip, talent, and one thing you recommend students do during their first year.

Allie Levick Senior Orientation Volunteer	Allie's favorite band is The Midnight Ramblers. She enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and M&Ms. She is quite good at dancing. She recommends that first year students eat a garbage plate.
Alyson Manning Senior Orientation Volunteer	Alyson's favorite band is The Fray. She enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and chocolate.She is quite good at dancing. She recommends that first year students get off campus - visit Eastman, Museum of Play, and Dinosaur BBQ to get the full Rochester experience!.
Ethan Lobenstine Senior Orientation Volunteer	Ethan's favorite band is Guster. He likes to watch Olympic Fencing, and enjoys eating Kit-Kat bars. He is a great beatboxer. He recommends students join a bunch of different groups in your first semester just to try new things out and see how they fit and to not be afraid to go outside your comfort zone! :)
Kevin Layden Senior Orientation Volunteer/Media Specialist	Kevin's favorite band is One Direction. He is a huge fan of Rebecca Black. He enjoys watching Olympic Track and Field as well as Kit-Kat bars. He is a very talented singer. He recommends first year students explore the tower of Rush Rhees.
Kristen Scherb Senior Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Kristen's favorite band is Coldplay. She likes to watch Olympic Ice Skating, and enjoys eating chocolate covered espresso beans. She can do a great cartwheel and is awesome at rapping to Beyonce's part in Telephone. She would recommend incoming students take a wide variety of classes in different departments.
Marisa Straub Senior Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Marisa's favorite musician is Taylor Swift. She enjoys Olympic Diving and Skittles. She is good at frolicking around the quad (which naturally involves her awesome dance moves). Her recommendation to first year students would be to go to the Sugar Mountain Bake Shop on Park Avenue at some point in time. She also stresses that you should definitely go with an empty stomach because their cupcakes are a full course meal!
Alanna Scheinerman Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Alanna's favorite band is The Killers. She enjoys Olympic Gymnasitics and Sour Patch Kids. She is quite good at procrastinating. She recommends that first year students go to all the activities the school put on.
Danielle Jaman Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Danielle's favorite musician is Darren Criss. She enjoys Olympic Diving and chocolate. She is quite good at staying up all night. She recommends that first year students go to Sugar Mountain Bakery.
Katie O'Connor Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Katie's favorite musician is Rascal Flatts. She enjoys Olympic Beach Volleyball and Blue Ranch Doritos. She is quite good at operating on no sleep. She recommends that first year students go to the Strong Museum of Play.
Katie Pieper Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Katie's favorite band is Sugarland. She enjoys Olympic Swimming and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. She is quite good at Arts and Crafts. She recommends that first year students go to all the concerts/performances that you can - and preform when possible!
Laura Ackerman Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Laura's favorite band is Led Zeppelin. She enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans. She is quite good at drinking coffe, rapping to Nicki Minaj songs, and having sweet dance moves. She recommends that first year students go to a concert at Eastman.
Pablo Galicia Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Pablo's favorite band is Marina and the Diamonds. He enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and Peanut M&Ms. He is quite good at drawing. She recommends that first year students visit and eat at the Distillary.
Paige Iovine Transfer Orientation Volunteer	Paige's favorite band is VNV Nation. She enjoys Olympic Fencing and Twix. She is quite good at playing music, and she loves old video games. She recommends that first year students join all the clubs!
Abby Zabrodsky Orientation Volunteer	Abby's favorite musician is Jason Mraz. She likes Olympic Track and Field as well as Salt Water Taffy. She recommends first year students take advantage of the limited nice weather and sit out on the quad.
Adriana Natali Orientation Volunteer	Adriana's favorite musician is Eric Church. She enjoys Olympic Show Jumping and Buffalo Hot Wings Chips. She is quite good at Rodeo Riding. She recommends that first year students eat at Nick Tahoe's.
Amanda Decker Orientation Volunteer	Amanda's favorite bands are The Clash, Florence and the Machine, Ben Folds Five, and Led Zeppelin. She enjoys Olympic Swimming and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. She is quite good at remembering names and faces. She recommends that first year students find a really good study spot that works for all types of studying/projects/papers. Also, she recommends students take some time to get to know the city of Rochester and take advantage of the shuttles to places like Park Ave - it's really wonderful knowing what the city has to offer and it makes the experience here at UR that much more special!
Amy Ige Orientation Volunteer	Amy's favorite musician is Mac Miller and her favorite band is All American Rejects. She enjoys Olympic Speed Skating and Whoppers. She is quite good at playing the viola. She recommends that first year students see a concert at Eastman.
Anam Ahmed Orientation Volunteer	Anam's favorite band is The Script. She enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and Sour Patch Kids. She is quite good at dancing. She recommends that students enjoy their first year of college.
Anima Ghimire Orientation Volunteer	Anima's favorite band is Coldplay. She enjoys Olympic Swimming and M&Ms. She is quite good at creative story telling. She recommends that first year students go to the top of Rush Rhees library on a tour.
Anisha Lashkari Orientation Volunteer	Anisha's favorite band is Green Day. She enjoys Olympic Swimming and Snickers. She is quite good at making people laugh. She recommends that first year students reach out - freshman year might be intimidating for some, but it doesn't have to be! There's support you can get from your peers, advisors and the U of R staff!
Aviva Schaffer Orientation Volunteer	Aviva's doesn't have a favorite musician, but loves all music. She enjoys Olympic Figure Skating and Twizzlers. She is quite good at playing the Saxophone. She recommends that first year students have fun.
Brittany Porter Orientation Volunteer	Brittany's favorite band is Parachute. She enjoys Olympic Snowboarding (half pipe) and chocolate. She is quite good at running. She recommends that first year students should not be afraid to get involved on campus.
Chitavi D. Maulloo Orientation Volunteer	Chitavi's favorite band is Santana. She enjoys Olympic Tennis and Ferrero Rocher. She is quite good at photography. She recommends that first year students explore Rush Rhees Stacks and the tunnels.
Cody Civiletto Orientation Volunteer	Cody's favorite band is Coldplay. He enjoys Olympic Curling and Salt and Vinegar Chips. He is quite good at singing. He recommends that first year students check out at least one Eastman performance.
Courtney Astemborski Orientation Volunteer	Courtney's favorite band is the Dave Matthews Band. She enjoys Olympic Figure Skating and Sour Patch Kids. She is quite good at tap dancing. She recommends that first year students go to the Strong Museum of Play.
Elise LaCarrubba Orientation Volunteer	Elise's favorite band is Nirvana. She enjoys Olympic Volleyball and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. She is quite good at wiggling her ears. She recommends that first year students join a sports club.
Elizabeth Bradley Orientation Volunteer	Elizabeth's favorite band is One Republic. She enjoys Olympic Figure Skating and Almond Joy. She is quite good at playing the clarinet. She recommends that first year students join a club.
Erica Williams Orientation Volunteer	Erica's favorite musician is Drake. She enjoys Olympic Ice Skating and Skittles. She is quite good at step. She recommends that first year students watch movies.
Jake Cogan Orientation Volunteer	Jake's favorite musician is . He enjoys Olympic Curling and Cool Ranch Doritos. He is quite good at whistling very loud. He recommends that first year students go to the top of Rush Rhees.
James Jeng Orientation Volunteer	James's favorite band is Plain White Ts. He enjoys Olympic Swimming and Snickers. He is quite good at playing the Violin. he recommends that first year students go see an Eastman concert.
Jessica Cowan Orientation Volunteer	Jessica's favorite band is My Chemical Romance. She enjoys Olympic Skiing and Sour Cream and Cheddar Lays. She is quite good at dancing. She recommends that first year students rush fraternities/sororities.
Jiyu Cheng Orientation Volunteer	Jiyu enjoys Olympic tennis and chocolate chip cookies. She is quite good at playing the piano. She recommends that first year students try different course and get to know different people!
Jim Haley Orientation Volunteer	Jim's favorite band is the Barenaked Ladies. He enjoys Olympic Curling and M&Ms. He is quite good at playing the guitar. He recommends that first year students go to the top of Rush Rhees on Halloween.
John DeCourney Orientation Volunteer	John's favorite musician is Fun. He enjoys Olympic Curling and Oreos. He is quite good at singing. He recommends that first year students go to the top of Rush Rhees.
Jon LoTempio Orientation Volunteer	Jon's favorite bands are Miles Davis, The Strokes, The White Stripes, and Rachmaninoff. He enjoys Olympic swimming, track, snowboardcross, and skiing. His work at the Common Market has made him enjoy all types of candy equally. He is very good at playing the cello. Jon recommends that first year students cook in their hall kitchens at least once.
Jonathan Fricke Orientation Volunteer	Jon's favorite band is the Dave Matthews Band. He enjoys Olympic Curling and Laffy Taffy. He is quite good at riding a unicycle while juggling. He recommends that first year students meet the dining staff.
Julia Sklar Orientation Volunteer	Julia's favorite band is The Shins. She enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and Cape Cod Potato Chips. She is quite good at procrastinating. She recommends that first year students go to all the activities that the school puts on.
Katie Stevens Orientation Volunteer	Katie's favorite band is the Rolling Stones. She enjoys Olympic Beach Volleyball. She is able to move her eyebrows independently of each other. She recommends that first year students join a club.
Kyra Bradley Orientation Volunteer	Kyra's favorite band is Big Bang. She enjoys Olympic Figure Skating and chocolate covered pretzels. She is quite good at looking and sounding American. She recommends that first year students go to the public market.
Lauren Sava Orientation Volunteer	Lauren's favorite band is City and Colour. She enjoys Olympic Skiing and Reese's. She is quite good at hula hooping and dancing. She recommends that first year students go to the activities fair and join at least one activity.
Ling Yang Orientation Volunteer	Ling enjoys Olympic Swimming and M&Ms. She is quite good at music in general. She recommends that first year students enjoy your first Dandelion Day.
Mackie Gage Orientation Volunteer	Mackie's favorite band is AFI. He enjoys Olympic Soccer and Sour Patch Kids. He is quite good at being able to operate on no sleep. He recommends that first year students get a garbage plate at Nick Tahoe's.
Mary Bachmann Orientation Volunteer	Mary's favorite band is the Goo Goo Dolls. She enjoys Olympic Diving and Cola Gummi Bottles. She is able to touch her tounge to her nose . She recommends that first year students make having fun a regular part of their schedule.
Matt Skurnick Orientation Volunteer	Matt's favorite band is Third Eye Blind. He enjoys Olympic Hockey and Milkyway Midnight. He is quite good at always finding time to have fun. He recommends that first year students eat a garbage plate.
Megan Stockdill Orientation Volunteer	Megan's favorite band is M83. She enjoys Olympic Gymnastics and Gummy Bears. Her friends say she is a cat whisperer. She recommends that first year students interact on a frequent basis with at least one of your professors.
Meng (Helen) Huang Orientation Volunteer	Helen enjoys Olympic Swimming and Reese's. She is quite good at language and speech. She recommends that first year students be themselves.
Natasha Chainaiu Orientation Volunteer	Natasha's favorite band is OAR. She enjoys Olympic Swimming and Snickers. She is quite good at making people smile. She recommends that first year students go lounge on the quad.
Pamela Barnett	Pamela's favorite singers are Jason Mraz and John Mayer. Her favorite Olympic sports are swimming and Diving. She likes Sour Patch Kids. Her advice to incoming freshman is to go explore the city, especially places like Eastman and park ave. And i am good at singing, dancing, and making people laugh.
Qiuyu Li Orientation Volunteer	Qiuyu's favorite band is Green Day. She enjoys Olympic Badminton and Gummy Bears. She is quite good at playing the piano. She recommends that first year students explore the tunnels.
Qiwen (Vivian) Zhu Orientation Volunteer	Vivian's favorite band is Coldplay. She enjoys Olympic Swimming and Lays. She is quite good at playing the piano. She recommends that first year students go biking along the river in good weather and have fun.
Ruobing (Robin) Wang Orientation Volunteer	Robin's favorite band is Coldplay. He enjoys Olympic Basketball and Soccer. He is quite good at sleeping, eating, and cooking. He recommends that first year students be organized and try to sleep early.
Sade Richardson Orientation Volunteer	Sade's favorite band is the Yellowjackets and her favorite musicians are Taylor Swift and Drake. She enjoys Olympic Cycling and M&Ms. She is quite good at poetry. She recommends that first year students take a Halloween tour of Rush Rhees.
Shane Saxton Orientation Volunteer	Shane's favorite band is Arcade Fire. He enjoys Olympic Track and Field and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. He is quite good at playing the guitar. He recommends that first year students see a U of R concert.
Sheel Clark Orientation Volunteer	Sheel's favorite musician is Eminem. He enjoys Olympic Swimming and Three Musketeers. He is quite good at Skiing. She recommends that first year students go to a Ramblers show and the Diversity dance show.
Stephanie Martello	Stephanie's favorite band is Aerosmith. She enjoys Olympic Ice Skating and Soccer. Her favorite candy is Kit-Kat bars. She is very good at remaining calm in stressful situations and is very crafty. She recommends that first year students try a club they never would have thought of joining in high school.

She recommends that first year students find a place to study that isn't your room; you'll appreciate the change of scenery.
