Festival of New French Writing

Next month NYU’s Center for French Civilization and Culture, in partnership with Cultures France and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy are putting on a Festival of New French Writing that promises to be really interesting. It runs from February 26th to the 28th and features the following French and American writers:

  • Frédéric Beigbeder and Paul Berman
  • Emmanuel Carrère and Francine Prose
  • Marie Darrieussecq and Adam Gopnik
  • David Foenkinos and Stefan Merrill Block
  • Bernard-Henri Lévy
  • Marie N’Diaye and Francine du Plessix Gray
  • Olivier Rolin and E. L. Doctorow
  • Marjane Satrapi and Chris Ware
  • Chantal Thomas and Edmund White
  • Jean-Philippe Toussaint and Siri Hustvedt
  • Abdourahman Waberi and Philip Gourevitch

Bios of all the French writers can be found here; bios of the Americans can be found here.

After we’re done highlighting all the fiction long list titles, I’ll try and write up something more about these authors and their works.
