Morgan, music director of the Oakland (CA) Symphony, is one of today’s
leading conductors, renowned for his bold and adventurous programming.
Mezzo-soprano Dencye Graves is one of operas most renowned stars. Her
signature title roles in Carmen and Samson et Dalila have garnered high
acclaim in opera houses throughout the world.
Music Festival participants are professional classical musicians of
African descent who play in major symphony orchestras, teach at
conservatories and music schools and perform as freelancers across the
United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and South America. From
August 6-11, 2019, the musicians will perform chamber and orchestral
music in more than 50 venues throughout Rochester, New York.
