Dave is the guest soloist on Monday, June 24 at Eastman Theatre for the RIJF-ESM Scholarship Concert, and also performs on Tuesday, June 25 at The Wilder Room.
Dave Glasser encompasses a uniquely personal sound rooted in rich tradition. A veteran of the Clark Terry quintet, the Count Basie Orchestra, Illinois Jacquet, Barry Harris, and Dizzy Gillespie, his music covers a wide range of expression. His performances tie together the great American songbook, jazz lineage, the blues and fresh, swinging, originals. Born and raised in New York City, Dave holds a BM and MM from Eastman school of music and considers the late Joe Romano among the many Rochester natives who played an important part in his musical development. A faculty member at the New School University College of Performing Arts for over 20 years, he is proud to have helped develop many of today’s young jazz musicians. He remains actively involved in performing and inspiring young musicians through an aural tradition of learning. He currently lives in NYC with his wife and two sons.
