Revised Notice of Award Letter Notice Number: NOT-OD-07-060 Key
Dates Issued by NIH announces the revision of
the Notice of Grant Award Letter, now known as the Notice of Award
Letter (NoA). The revised NoA has several enhancements and a
new look and feel. This NoA gives NIH the flexibility to make
changes as needed and issue the NoA in PDF format resulting in a more
user / reader friendly document. Listed below are the most notable
enhancements. NIH will start to issue the revised NoA effective April
13, 2007. With the revision of the NoA,
NIH strongly encourages all award recipients to become e-mail enabled
to allow for the electronic transmission of the NoA. An institution
can easily become e-mail enabled when registering the prospective institution
or organization in the eRA Commons hosted by the NIH. Registering
in the eRA Commons also allows faculty and staff to take advantage
of the electronic submission and retrieval of grant information. Only
an individual with signatory authority for the institution or organization
in grant-related matters can register an institution. To register in the eRA Commons,
open the NIH eRA Commons
homepage and click on the Grantee Organization Registration link.
Follow the step-by-step instructions. The institution is registered
when the information is completed, submitted (by pressing the Submit
button) and confirmed by the NIH. For those institutions already
registered in the Commons, if not already e-mail enabled, an authorized
official can edit the Institutional Profile to include the appropriate
e-mail address in the NGA e-mail field. Changes to this address
can be managed here as well. Notable Enhancements: Header: E-mail text: (New) First
Page: In accordance with the NIH Public
Access Policy, http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-022.html,
a paragraph has been included to encourage award recipients to
submit published publications to PubMed Central (PMC).
