Clarification - Grants.gov and Adobe Reader

For clarification (based on questions received) please note that this information pertains to submissions using Adobe based forms, not the conversion process from Word to Adobe.

Note that not every Sponsor has transitioned to the Adobe based forms; for those Sponsors that have transitioned either version 7.0.9 or version 8.1.1.of Adobe Reader is necessary to open the forms.

NIH has not yet transitioned to the new Adobe Forms. When NIH makes the transition ORPA will announce this change.

Subject: Grants.gov and Adobe Reader

Grants.gov now supports the latest version of Adobe Reader (8.1.1), which is available for free download from the Adobe Website http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. Grants.gov continues to support Adobe Reader version 7.0.9. Only these two versions should be used when submitting grant applications. Other Adobe Reader versions are not supported.
