As we approach the June deadline, we are continuing to learn how best to work with Grants.gov and the PureEdge software.  The following updates are for your information.

1.  For those of you who are working on or are planning to work on NIH Grants.gov submissions using a shared drive or folder, please be aware that several people have experienced file corruption errors resulting in a loss of all work.  To avoid these errors, Grants.gov and ITS recommend copying the file onto your own desktop to work on and then pushing it out when finished onto the shared drive/folder.  Do not work on the application on that shared drive or within that folder at all.  Be sure to communicate with others working on the drive/folder when changes have been made to avoid saving over someone else's work.

2.  We are experiencing new warnings from NIH Commons regarding Grants.gov application submissions.  As you may know from the ORPA training sessions, information in the grant application must match information on the PI's Commons profile and the University's Commons profile.  We have found that the addition of hyphens in the UCAR assurance number, or including FWA in the human use assurance number generates warnings.

To avoid these warnings, for electronic Grants.gov application, please use this version of the animal IACUC approval number:  A329201.

Use this version of the human subject FWA assurance number:  00009386.

Please contact your ORPA research administrator with any questions.
