Please be advised that until further notice, for budgets created for grant submissions, you should continue to use the 2007/2008 fringe benefit rates as posted on the ORPA website.  We understand that you may have received estimated benefit rates for 2008/2009 in your University budget packages.  These estimated rates have not yet been approved and cannot be used for grant submissions at this time.  University fringe benefit rates are negotiated with the federal government.  Using rates prior to their approval could result in overstating benefit dollars on grant applications and could be perceived by the federal government as fraudulent.
