FY 2005 BENEFIT RATE INFORMATION


The fringe benefit rates for FY 2005 effective July 1, 2004 are as follows:

Rate 1 - 27.5% Faculty and Senior Administrators with staff benefit code A, F, L, O, S, Z and 2. (Base rate on salary up to $87,900. Refer to the Schedule for rates on salaries above $87,900.)

Rate 2 - 30.6% Professional, Administrative, Supervisory (PAS) and nonexempt staff (excluding 1199) with benefit code D, E, J, K, M, N, Q, R, U, Y and 3


Rate 3* - 9.7% Visiting faculty, TAR staff, employee class codes B, C, V, X, P


Rate 4 - 18.6% Interns and Residents, Postdocoral Fellows. Employee class Code H, I, or 1


Rate 6 - 50.9% Members of the bargaining units 1199 employee class code U


Rate S - 12.7% Faculty summer compensation (includes retirement).


Rate 7 - 7.65% Extra Compensation (no retirement) up to Social Security upper limit of 87,000.


Rate 8 - 30.4% Temporary Services Program, employee class code T


Rate 9 - 1.45% Extra compensation rate if salary exceeds $87,000.


*This rate does not include costs to cover health insurance premiums. During the summer period, undergraduate and graduate students who are not enrolled on a full-time basis and are paid on the undergraduate payroll will be charged this rate.
