** March 3 – April 6** Film Festival Herstory: Inspiration in Film All films will be screened in the Gowen Room, Wilson Commons at the University of Rochester March 3 7 pm Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony A Film by Ken Burns and Paul Barnes; a PBS Production March 17 7 pm Iron Jawed Angels Katja von Garnier's film tells the remarkable story of passionate and dynamic young women, led by Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and her friend Lucy Burns (Frances O'Connor), who put their lives on the line to fight for American women's right to vote. March 24 8 pm Who Does She Think She Is? A feature documentary directed by Pamela Tanner Boll and co-directed and edited by Nancy C. Kennedy The film follows five women artists as they navigate the economic, psychological, and spiritual challenges of making work outside the elite art world. These women— ranging in age from 27 to 65—fight to honor their vision and their families every day. March 31 7 pm Ahead of Time: Ruth Gruber didn't just report the news...she made it! Rochester Premiere This film is the directorial debut of award-winning cinematographer Bob Richman (An Inconvenient Truth, The September Issue, My Architect) and tells the journey of American writer and journalist Ruth Gruber. Gruber, who will turn 100 years old September 30th, was a feminist before feminism. A trail-blazer who rejected the gender standards, she became a full-time journalist at the age of 24, and created an illustrious career with the New York Herald Tribune. April 6 7 pm Orgasm Inc: The Strange Science of Female Pleasure Liz Canner, Director, Producer, Editor, Cinematographer. The film is a powerful look inside the medical industry and the marketing campaigns that are reshaping our lives around health, illness and desire. _______________________________________________________ March 8 9 am – 4:40 pm A Dialogue on Leadership: Seneca Falls, 163 Years Later Visit and tour: The Women’s Rights National Historical Park, The Women’s Interfaith Institute, The National Women’s Hall; a dialogue between Mayor Diana Smith and Elizabeth Cady Stanton (play by Dr. Melinda Grube).
