Ann McDaniel is a Vice President of the Washington Post Company with responsibility for three of the Company's divisions: Newsweek, the Gazette Community Newspapers and the Daily Herald. Before the Washington Post's corporate staff, McDaniel spent 17 years at Newsweek where she was managing editor and Washington Burea Chief. She oversaw Newsweek's coverage of the Monica Lewinsky story, a project that earned 1999's National Magazine Award for reporting.

Jennifer Lawless is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Brown University. She specializes in women and politics, public opinion, and statistics. Her current research focuses on political ambition and the manner in which gender affects the decision to run for office. Dr. Lawless graduated from Union College with a B.A. in Political Science. She went on to recieve an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. A nationally recognized expert on women's involvement in politics, she is co-author (with Richard L. Fox) of It Takes a Candidate: Why Women Don't Run for Office.
