The newly funded UCIS cluster in Drug Discovery aims to unify and energize the numerous drug development research groups at the URMC and River Campus. The missions of the cluster are to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas, and galvanize the already impressive drug discovery capabilities at the University of Rochester. We also aim to promote research collaborations, and to facilitate publication, submission of grants, patent filings and create routes to commercialization. The UR currently has a number of outstanding research groups with a broad range of complementary interests and expertise in the field of therapeutic drug development. This emerging center of excellence is designed to provide a structure to fully exploit and leverage our current strengths.
